How it was:

Mick Gerace (MG) is a rising pop artist with a big heart. His dream to release a world-class independent music album without signing with a major label sounded like a tall order, until he met macdaddy (MD).

To achieve what he set out to do, MG had to find a way to fill the gaps and take on all the tasks that a major record label would normally undertake. He required funding (and lots of it), branding, management, vast resources, significant intellectual property and an endless supply of creative elbow grease to make it work.

What we did:

MD immediately fell in love with the project and soon after partnered MG on a quest to achieve what became our common goals. Having turned into a full time business, MD took on management duties- with the help of 2 new personal, raised finance through investors and provided all other creative for the venture, including: Identity, branding, web development, social networking, collateral design and production, styling and viral promotions.

What we’re doing now:

MD recently negotiated a deal with The Orchard for digital distribution. MG’s debut single, ‘In the ghetto’ can now be purchased online through 400 + MP3 retailers worldwide and music samples accessed through a number of music portals such as Last FM and Beatport.

MG and MD subsequently licensed ‘In the ghetto’ to noghettos.org- an organisation founded by MG and MD. A function of noghettos.org is to exploit the track in anyway and everyway to generate funding for the cause. The primary purpose of the cause is to assist in the funding of organisations around the world helping empower those living in poor conditions.

Once MG has executed the release of ‘In the ghetto’, his debut album, ‘Geraceland’ will be launched in the US around October 2010. MD will work with a publicist in NYC to help build the MG brand and get MG’s music charting.
