How it was:


Cabman and macdaddy (MD) met in 2005 with a brief to update their website. At that time Cabman had a website that was dated, hard to navigate and/or find product information, could not be found by search engines and the content was impossible to update independently. It was imperative for Cabman to find a solution to display their complex range of products and accessories in a cohesive, logical manner.

What we did:


After conducting research and development and then concentrating on information architecture, MD designed and developed a website that for the first time enabled Cabman to digitally catalogue its comprehensive range of products and display it for a wider audience.

The integration of a quick view product page was a hit with users as they could see every product, with thumbnails on one page.

As the product lines were extensive and complex in nature and the fact that Cabman only sold their products to wholesale buyers and retailers a quote cart, similar to a shopping cart (only without the real time payments) was implemented so that users could add items to a basket for quoting.

The macdaddy developed Content Management System, Copilot [CMS] was integrated as a back-end of the site so that Cabman website administrators could make site wide changes and manage its content.

What we’re doing now:


The web site inevitably helped boost Cabman’s market share by 300% in 3 years. Since then cabman has continued to grow nationally and internationally with an office now open in the UK. A redesign of the website and upgrade to copilot [CMS] is currently under development and when finished an SEO campaign will commence.
